SEATTLE, Washington — Kleinfelder announced today that Tim Strawn has been named to the role of Canada Country Manager, effective immediately. In this role, Strawn will provide the vision, strategy and leadership to grow the Canadian business while delivering the right technical solutions to clients operating in the energy, facilities, transportation, and water markets.
Kleinfelder has been operating in Canada since 2012, when it opened an office in Calgary in support of multinational oil and gas clients. In July 2014, the company acquired Hood Engineering & Technical Services (aka Hood Group), an Alberta-based, privately owned organization providing engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services to clients primarily in oil and gas, petrochemical, and manufacturing industries.
“At Kleinfelder, we are focused on promoting the best talent and are thrilled to have someone of Tim’s caliber leading our Canadian operations,” says Bill Siegel, Kleinfelder’s President and CEO. “His track record of building great teams, providing the right technical solutions and generating revenue growth is exceptional. I have no doubt that Tim’s leadership will help transform Kleinfelder into a leading provider of engineering, architecture and environmental-consulting services throughout Canada.”
Prior to this position, Strawn served as the company’s Chief Technical Officer, where he was responsible for overseeing the company’s network of technical resources with a focus on developing technical talent, advancing industry-transforming innovation and maintaining external visibility for the company. Prior to joining Kleinfelder, he served as ExxonMobil's Global Remediation Environmental Technology Network Manager, where he was responsible for global standardization and continuous improvement of technology, implementation processes, and performance metrics and collaboration methods between all levels within the organization.
Strawn has also been intimately involved in Canada’s oil and gas market, having been a past member of the Canadian Petroleum Product Institute's (CPPI) Prioritization and Planning Workgroup, the British Columbia Water Quality Regulatory Task Group (WQRT), the Western States Petroleum Association (WSPA), and the American Petroleum Institute (API) National Soil and Groundwater Technical Task Force. In 2002, he received CPPI's President's Award for successfully negotiating environmental policy initiatives
Strawn holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of California Santa Barbara, and is registered as a Certified Hydrogeologist (C.H.G.), Licensed Geologist (L.G.), and Professional Geologist (P.G.) in California and Washington.
