Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
KLEINFELDER'S SPECTRUM
Kleinfelder promotes an inclusive workplace that respects and embraces diversity, equity, and inclusivity — which are essential to individual and Kleinfelder success.
Currently, we are amplifying existing efforts through Kleinfelder’s Spectrum Committee, a 12-person, self-nominated committee established to cultivate diversity, inclusivity, and equity within Kleinfelder through education, awareness, and promoting an inclusive culture.
Through ongoing, continuous communication and collaboration with the broader Kleinfelder community, the committee strives to enhance awareness and engagement to sustain a culture that recruits, develops, advances, and retains talent from all ranges of the people spectrum — and we understand this is an ongoing effort.
KLEINFELDER AUSTRALIA’S RECONCILIATION ACTION PLAN (RAP)
As a business working amongst communities across Australia, and with an existing organisational commitment to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusivity, Kleinfelder acknowledges its responsibility to educate its employees, contractors and suppliers to develop and foster a genuine respect for, and understanding of, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their cultures. During National Reconciliation Week 2021, we set out our commitment to develop our REFLECT RAP, which we completed with an endorsement from Reconciliation Australia in May 2022.
There are four RAP types (Reflect, Innovate, Stretch and Elevate), which provide a progressive framework to support the national reconciliation movement and set out the minimum elements required by organisations to build strong relationships, respect, and opportunities, both internally and across the wider community.
Our Reflect RAP defines the steps we will take to prepare us for reconciliation initiatives in future RAPs, and we began our journey by ascertaining current levels of awareness about reconciliation amongst our staff and their priorities for RAP activities.
Kleinfelder’s RAP is championed by the Australian General Manager and governed by a RAP Working Group which is positioned to support a locally delivered approach to our reconciliation journey, thus providing a more direct and local community focused contribution.
Overall, Kleinfelder is committed to driving genuine social change and reconciliation and contributing to closing the gap in employment and business opportunities between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians.
