Kleinfelder Announces Matt Pickard as Vice President and Director of Health and Safety
SAN DIEGO, CA (Sept. 5, 2023) – The Kleinfelder Group, Inc. (Kleinfelder), a leading engineering, design, construction management, construction materials inspection and testing, and environmental professional services firm, announced today that Matt Pickard, CIH, has been promoted to Vice President and Director of Health and Safety. In this role, Pickard will direct all health and safety functions throughout the multinational business and provide strategic leadership and guidance with a primary focus on achieving safety related performance objectives and compliance to all applicable health and safety standards.
Pickard has held multiple key health and safety positions throughout his over 20-year career. Most recently, Pickard served as Kleinfelder’s East Division Health and Safety Manager, where he managed the health and safety program of 51 divisional offices and was responsible for implementing, managing, and overseeing safety training for over 1,300 employees. He also monitored the activities of subcontractors to achieve compliance with specifications and procedures. Prior to Kleinfelder, Pickard was a Health and Safety Manager at Bombardier where he managed the health and safety of 200 employees at rail yards within the New York City Transit Authority.

Pickard holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Hygiene/Environmental Toxicology from Clarkson University, and a Master of Public Health in Occupational Health and Safety Management from Tulane University School of Medicine. Pickard is a Certified Industrial Hygienist while also holding Loss Prevention System Training, SafeLandUSA, and OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certifications.
