Kleinfelder is committed to implementing and managing all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality as an integral part of our business processes, which includes continually improving our management systems to aid in sustainable practices, client satisfaction and business growth, all whilst keeping our employees safe in line with legislative requirements.
Kleinfelder maintains an Integrated Management System (IMS) which has been accredited by DLCS against the requirements and principles of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements, ISO 14001:2015, Environmental management systems and ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Systems.
Our IMS creates a framework for clearly defining the control of materials, processes, and verification activities so that Kleinfelder clients can be confident that project activities and services are performed in a well-defined, controlled, consistent approach with approved procedures and processes following a Plan-Do-Check-Act process.
Health and Safety Culture
In the field or in the office, safe behaviour is critical to the overall well-being of Kleinfelder’s employees, partners, clients, and the community at large. It is also key to the success of our projects, our client relationships, and the health of our company. Our employees benefit from Kleinfelder’s safety culture because it promotes a high quality of life, both at work and at home.
As part of Kleinfelder’s health and safety culture, we integrate a safety approach, based on the Loss Prevention System TM (LPS) that helps our people recognize, evaluate and reduce risk even before projects begin. We hold managers accountable for setting and communicating safety expectations, and we recognize and reward demonstrated commitment of employees to the core value of safety. This ongoing stewardship and attention makes each of us accountable to each other. Kleinfelder employees take care of one another every day, on every project, allowing all of us to end our work day in the same condition we started it. Our safety culture is what enables us to complete our clients’ projects efficiently, confidently, and safely.
“Values don’t change. Priorities do. At Kleinfelder, our core value of Health and Safety leads to setting the right priorities, which shape behaviors of all employees, every day. Setting clear expectations for safe behavior leads to safety performance excellence; simply put, no one gets hurt.” —Sally K. Miller, Senior Vice President, Director of Health and Safety
Environmental
Kleinfelder’s key objective is to manage the environmental impact from our businesses in a manner that is planned, controlled, monitored, recorded and audited through the use of our Environmental Management System. Our business aspects and impacts have been assessed and each project is monitored to ensure we are meeting our legislative requirements as well as our responsibilities as a good corporate citizen.
Quality
It is the operating principle of Kleinfelder to maintain and use an effective Quality Management Program. The achievement of quality in our work and in our services is the primary objective of our efforts. This means our project outcomes will meet or exceed the requirements and expectations of internal and external clients. This concept applies to every program, project, service, and individual. Quality is accomplished by adhering to procedures, policies, and practices and by providing sufficient material and human resources to be effective for applicable work activities. Kleinfelder believe that implementation and stewardship of quality processes is an obligation for our leadership team and every Kleinfelder employee shares equal responsibility.
