Kleinfelder serves our clients, our people, and our communities. Our collective desire to leave a lasting, positive influence has been woven into our business model through the creation of the Kleinfelder Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program, tailored to address our communities’ most pressing issues. With a focus on four essential pillars—disaster relief, diversity, sustainability, and volunteerism—Kleinfelder sets annual goals for contributing resources and delivering an impact where needed most.
Kleinfelder Unites with Ronald McDonald House Charities to Drive Companywide Community Service
In 2011 as part of our 50th Anniversary celebration, Kleinfelder expanded our companywide social responsibility efforts with a three-year commitment to support Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), providing employees an opportunity to help others. Together we have accomplished the following since we started this partnership: Raised $155,000, donated 25,000 pounds of food and goods, and prepared and served more than 175 meals at local Ronald McDonald Houses across the globe.
“The past five years has demonstrated what makes Kleinfelder great. It’s a company that supports their communities through its employees. Our employee owners showed their pride and commitment through their time and effort to give back to such a great charity. Our collective volunteerism and personal contributions not only served many communities and others in need, but also helped make our company stronger,” said Jennifer Kozak, RMHC Program Manager.
Looking ahead, Kleinfelder and our employees will continue to support many worthwhile causes, nationally and locally, donating time, energy, and financial resources to help make the world a better place.
Kleinfelder Supports Disaster Relief Efforts
Our employees generously contributed to the Colorado Flooding and Typhoon Haiyan disaster relief efforts, through the American Red Cross, with Kleinfelder providing a matching donation to honor employees’ spirit of giving. In addition, Kleinfelder staff donated their hours of paid time off to our Catastrophic and Natural Disaster Fund to aid those needing additional time away from work to recover from devastating life events.
Kleinfelder Contributes to Engineers Without Borders
Kleinfelder employees have been participating in Engineers Without Borders-USA (EWB-USA) for years to help build a better world by improving infrastructure, the environment, and overall living conditions for people in developing countries. Kleinfelder’s own Laura Robinson coordinated the EWB-USA West Coast Regional Conference bringing together a range of professionals to learn, network, and share stories. We are also currently assisting in the Shisasari Freshwater Spring Protection Project in Kenya, Africa to help protect the water from contamination for this community.
Mentor Program Promotes Diversity
Kleinfelder’s Diversity Committee created a mentor program to provide employee-owners the opportunity to interact with senior staff to discuss all types of business-related topics, such as career goals and industry issues. Junior staff gain exposure to other departments, as well as senior leaders in the company, that they may not have access to in their day-to-day job functions. Educational courses are also available to all employees to learn more and understand the value of workplace diversity.
Legacy Service Trophy
Each year we present the Kleinfelder Legacy Service Trophy to the office that best exemplifies our commitment to the community and corporate social responsibility. These achievements can include raising money for the Ronald McDonald House Charity, instituting an office sustainability initiative, and donating food.
