Caltrans Awards Kleinfelder $4.5M Materials Engineering, Testing and Inspection Project
LOS ANGELES, California – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 8 has awarded Kleinfelder a unique three-year, $4.5 million contract to provide materials engineers, testers, and inspectors to support transportation projects in San Bernardino, Irvine, and Los Angeles, California.
Under the contract, Kleinfelder’s experts will perform hot mix asphalt/binder, aggregate, soils, masonry, Portland cement concrete, hydraulic cement, and metals testing services at Caltran’s state-of-the-art Southern Regional Laboratory (SRL). Kleinfelder is the only consultant providing in-house laboratory services.
“The SRL plays a critical role to Caltran’s mission by testing materials used in projects throughout Southern California.
