Doug Hearn Joins Kleinfelder’s Florida Area Team

MOUNT DORA, Florida – Kleinfelder is excited to announce that Doug Hearn, PG has joined our team in Florida in the role of Water Resources Program Manager. Doug will provide oversight and management of environmental and hydrogeologic technical programs and projects for mining, state and local government, utilities, transportation, and energy clients throughout Florida and the Southeast.

Doug brings over 30 years of experience in hydrogeology, particularly water resource evaluations in Florida and the southeastern United States, to Kleinfelder.  His areas of specialization include groundwater modeling for regional and site-specific applications, aquifer performance test design and implementation, mine and construction dewatering, and geotechnical/feasibility studies for a variety of land development projects.  He has worked with a number of public sector clients, including the cities of Atlantic Beach, Oviedo, Ocoee, Tavares, Seminole and Volusia Counties, and the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority in Florida.  Private sector clients include heavy mineral sands mine operations in Green Cove Springs and Lulaton (northeast Florida and southeast Georgia), and several potable water supply facilities owned and operated by Florida Water Resources, Inc.

Most recently, as the Technical Program Manager for groundwater modeling at the St. Johns River Water Management District, Doug worked collaboratively with representatives of the South Florida, Southwest Florida, and Suwannee River Water Management Districts during development of three large scale regional models that collectively span the Floridan aquifer and overlying aquifer systems from the Fall Line in northwest Georgia south to Lake Okeechobee. These models are now being used in the Regulatory, Water Supply Planning, and Minimum Flows and Levels programs for each of the noted water management districts throughout the State of Florida.

Doug is a registered professional geologist in Florida and holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from the University of Florida.
