Kleinfelder’s careful consideration of each modification, with attention on reducing environmental impact, enabled our client to gain approval from NSW planning authorities in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Most of the modifications have now been successfully constructed or are planned for construction.
Gaining Approval for Modifications
Kleinfelder has prepared and gained approval for five modifications to the Ashton Coal Mine for: additional longwall panels; gas drainage holes and pipe networks; vent shafts and drop holes; extension of the open cut; and Integration of the South East Open Cut. Working with the client, each modification project was evaluated, the appropriate approval pathway determined, and the impacts assessed using our multi-disciplinary team.
